Scope and Role

Thnkbrokerin.com is an independent editorial resource that publishes reviews and commentary about the broker ThinkMarkets for readers in India. We are not that broker. We are not affiliated with it, we do not provide financial services, and we do not open accounts, take deposits, execute orders or give advice. This policy explains how we handle personal data when you visit this site, read our pages, or contact us through the contact form on this site.

Because we are an editorial publisher, most of what you do here is simply reading. The data we handle is correspondingly modest. This policy applies to this website and to messages you send us through it. It does not apply to the broker's own website or services, which are governed by that broker's own privacy terms, and which we do not control.

By using this site you acknowledge this policy. If you do not accept it, please do not use the site or send us messages through it.

Data We Collect

We collect the content of any message you send us through the contact form on this site, together with whatever name and contact details you choose to include in it, so that we can read and, where appropriate, answer it. We also collect technical data that servers generate automatically when pages are requested: the IP address from which a request comes, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and basic information about the browser and device used. This technical data helps us keep the site working, understand which pages are read, and defend against abuse.

We do not collect your financial account details, your trading history, your holdings, your identity documents, or any information about deposits or withdrawals, because we do not provide financial services and have no reason to hold such data. We ask that you do not send us such information through the contact form. We do not run advertising profiles about you, and we do not build behavioural profiles for marketing purposes.

If we ever wish to collect data for a new purpose, we will tell you before doing so and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.

Legal Bases

Where data protection law applies to us, we rely on a small number of legal bases. Technical data needed to deliver pages to you, to keep the site secure and to diagnose faults is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a functioning, safe editorial website, balanced against your rights. The same basis covers basic, aggregated measurement of how pages are used, kept to what is necessary for that purpose.

When you send us a message, we process its content and your contact details on the basis of our legitimate interest in receiving and responding to correspondence about our editorial work, or, where your message asks us to do something for you, on the basis of taking steps at your request. If we ever ask for your consent for a specific use, that consent is the legal basis for that use, and you may withdraw it at any time.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects for you.

Retention Periods

We keep records only as long as they serve the purpose for which they were collected. Correspondence sent through the contact form is kept for as long as needed to handle the matter and any reasonable follow-up, and then for a further period where we need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Technical server logs are kept for a short period sufficient for security, troubleshooting and aggregate measurement, and are then removed or reduced to anonymous statistics.

We review retention at intervals rather than keeping data indefinitely by default. When a retention period ends, records are deleted or irreversibly anonymised, and backups containing them are allowed to expire on their normal cycle.

If you ask us to delete a message you sent, we will do so unless we are required to keep it for a legal reason, in which case we will tell you.

Sharing and Location

We never sell your personal data, and we do not rent or trade it. We do not share it with the broker reviewed on this site, and we do not pass it to advertisers or data brokers. Sharing is limited to service providers who help us run the site, such as the provider that hosts our servers and the provider that delivers our contact form messages, and who may process data only on our instructions and for those purposes. We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect the site, our readers or our rights.

Our servers and the service providers that support this site may be located outside India, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or the United States. Where data leaves the country in which you are located, we take the steps required by applicable law to ensure it remains protected, and we keep the set of recipients small.

If the site is ever reorganised, data may transfer as part of that reorganisation, subject to this policy.

Children and Your Rights

This site is written for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under eighteen. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please tell us through the contact form on this site and we will delete it.

Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to confirm whether we hold personal data about you, to give you a copy of it, to correct it if it is wrong, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. You may also ask for the data you gave us in a portable format, and you may withdraw any consent you have given without affecting earlier processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the contact form on this site and describe your request; we may ask for enough information to verify that the request relates to you. We will answer within the time the applicable law allows. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the data protection authority competent for you. We may update this policy from time to time; the current version is always published on this page.
